Hero $350 MP (TAG, if my opponents are paying attention, i'm not sure that they are, but if they are they see that I enter few pots but when I do I'm aggressive)

V1 $350 BTN (No real reads other than seems to be playing TAG, has won a few sm/med pots to add $100 to his initial full buy in, really has not shown down many hands, has not played a lot of pots at all)

V2 $200 BB ("Average" player, bordering on loose, calls too much PF, check calls more often than average actually.)

Dealt AcAs in MP, 1 limp and I make it $12 to go (I've found $12 to be the right amount for premium holdings over the years), BTN and BB call, limper folds.

Pot $38

Ah Th 7c

V1 (BB) bets $10
Hero makes it $45 to go
V2 (BTN) Cold calls the $45
V2 Calls

Pot $173
Turn 6s

V1 Checks
Hero Checks for pot control in light of the straight card hitting, planning to call a reasonable bet (appreciate feedback on my check here).
V2 Bets out $125 (almost 1/2 of his remaining stack)
V1 Folds
Hero ???

(Appreciate any constructive criticism on my play and first shot at typing up a HH in a few years, thanks!)

Seems to be a rather straightforward all-in. Villain can have lower sets, 2 pair, and combo draws. Never folding top set here.

Huh? Turn is a very clear value bet. If BTN has 98cc or 98hh, pay the man his money. You dont pot control with top set

AP, x/shove.

That's the same conclusion I came to...on the ride home...after I 'hero folded' top set face up. Very weak tight in hindsight.

I tried to run through the hand once he made that bet, especially what his full range would be here but tbh I just freaked a bit and couldn't get 98 out of my head.

He showed Tc 7c for flopped bottom two :/

I learned a good lesson here though that I think I'm playing TAG but am sometimes afraid of monsters under the bed.

Next time I'll be sure to jam.

The only reason to check and not bet out is to check raise shove. Do not slow play top holdings especially in this spot.

You are not playing TAG by raising to 12 preflop and checking the turn for "pot control".

This is classic weak/tight.
