Haven't played live for a while and really felt like I made a mess of this hand

Table has been tight in general and is 10 handed. I recently stacked Villain when he limp/3bet shoved AQs after I 8xed KK in the BB after a ton of limpers. He has rebought, has about 230ish and I cover.

Preflop ($3.50) Hero is UTG with TT

Hero calls $2.50, MP1 calls, BTN calls, blinds call
Would normally raise here but had a shortstacker in LP that had been shoving over limpers for the past few hands and was looking to come over the top of him.

Flop ($12.50) T 6 4
Blinds check, Hero checks, MP1 checks, BTN checks

Turn ($12.50) 7
Blinds check, Hero bets $15, fold, BTN raises to $40, fold, fold, Hero calls

River ($92.50) 5
Hero checks, BTN shoves, Hero?

Thoughts on turn and river as played?

small bet the flop

re raise turn. in this spot im not to scared of 5-8 or 3-5. a set or two pair is more likley i believe.

big bet on river indicates to me that hes not betting for value. i still put him on 2 pair and call and vommit if he flips 2-3 or 8-2

By the way you set the hand up, I would be interested in knowing if you felt that the villain was either trying to get you off a better hand or over betting to get some of their money back from the hand you referenced.

All that being said, I think I might have raised on the turn, if he just calls I know I'm still ahead and I can narrow the hand range, but if he re-raise shoves, I know I'm up against at least two pair, maybe a straight.

as played call the turn fold the river

limp preflop is fine with read
bet a blind less than pot on the flop
get it in on the turn against a tilter
if he's 58 suited you can always redraw

58 is more likely than any two pair besides T7
and it was a limped pot his range is huge
and the river jam for sure beats top set

youre all wrong

This is an interesting hand...I think the call PF is fine...I would balance between calling and raising 3-4x here...
The flop check isn't the worst thing in the world on a rainbow board and two players behind you...a bet of around $8-10 would probably be better to build the pot but I check here sometimes, especially with aggressive players behind...
The turn is where it gets tricky...I'm not a huge fan of "overbetting" the pot, I would have preferred $10...I do think the V has a decent amount of straights in his range since it was limped PF...of course we are always calling his raise but I am probably not 3-betting him unless he is the type to really overvalue hands...
On the river I am check/folding. With $90 in the pot he would have to bet less than probably $70 for me to feel like I was getting good enough odds on a call. When he overbets it does polarize his range...but I think when we call we are beat more than we aren't. Tough spot, I don't think you played it that horribly though

Personally, I don't like the flop check at all. It gives a free card to 4 players that could be holding gutshots to beat you. It's top set, but I still make a $10 bet on the flop. With that board, you might get a call from overcards and clear out some weak draws at the same time. Save the traps for K 8 3 flops holding 88 or KK, or flops with less opponents.

It looks like he's holding 89 to me, but could have anything if he's wild enough. You really never showed strength in the hand.

In hindsight the flop check was the worst played street if I'm not getting it in on the turn because my hand is so underrepped (although I did slightly overbet). As for the river, I folded my tens face-up after about three minutes thought and the Villain was kind enough to show his 89
