Top 2 pair, what is best course of action?

Game is 10/25 HKD (roughly 2$/4$), effective stack is 3500.

Hero has been playing standard tag, and climbed from 2500 to 3500 in about 1 hour of play. No big hands shown so far, no hands have gone to showdown.

Villain is unknown asian who seems to be playing loose and passive.
One significant hand is that villain called a raise with QQ in position to MP raise, then peeled a flop of K53r and c/c turn and snap called river bet only to see he is losing to KJs. This leads me to think he is not 3Betting pre much of anything, most likely just KK and AA.
Villain covers hero with roughly 5k stack.

MP limps
Hero opens AT to 125 from CO
Villain on button is thinking and looking at hero and then decides to call.
- Usually he calls faster but this time he took a few seconds here, leading hero to think he might be out kicked in this hand.
Others fold and MP quickly calls.

Pot: 410
Flop is: AT2

MP checks
Hero thinks he just outdraw the villain and bets 300
Villain re-raises to 925
- Villains possible range in my mind: TT (1), 22 (3), AJ+ (24), A2s (1) + few flush draws that can be possible hero thinks equity is about 60% to my favorite most likely hand that crushes me is 22 obviously but his range should be more inclined to TPGK
MP folds

Hero has 3075 left
What is the best course of action?

I sort of think AA would be in his 3Bet range preflop and eliminate it out..

He doesn't seem to be folding here if he does have a draw. P2s are unlikely and if he has an ace your ahead. So I personally call. And read how he plays the turn. This looks like a way ahead or behind situation. Does V call pre with A2 suited?

+1, the QQ hand tells me he probably never folds AK-AQ/big draws here.
