5/5 NL

Hero in UTG with 55 ($1000)
Hero raises to $20
MP calls ($1200)
SB calls ($500)

Flop:
344sxx

SB checks
Hero raises to $45
MP calls
SB calls

Turn:
2s

All check (Should I be firing here since I pick up more equity?)

River:
Ts

SB bets $100
Hero ???

The SB leading the river throws me for a loop. He made a similar bet on the river in a previous hand where he showed a bluff. He could be representing a 4 most of the time, but would he just check the turn? MP has played pretty passively so far and rarely takes initiative in hands. He’s usually check calling, but plays with a much wider range. Is this a trivial fold or is there merit to calling?

I hate this spot because while this SHOULD be a trivial fold, these guys suck so much they can show up with KQ here. I guess shrug fold because MP can have you beat behind with 77 or w/e.

Why would SB not c/r a 4 OTF?

I've tightened up my EP ranges lately and 55 is a muck UTG for me now, but as played yeah I'm double barreling with the OESD. I fully expect to see at least one of them with just overcards and a hand like 66+ to call, possibly something like A2. The reason for this is because they simply will not believe that YOU have a hand because these guys never raise low PP's from any position so you must be bluffing. With the SB lead I now include AT/JT and sigh fold river, I just cant imagine someone bluffing into 2 players from the SB with no draws and one overcaller with that sizing that could very easily get looked up.

You should fold low pairs from EP a good portion of the time unless the table is very tight. They play badly post flop unless you hit your set. Flop bet is fine but you should check/fold occasionally.

You could barrel the turn but you don't need too. At 5/5 you will run into more villains that will float the flop with anything and take the pot away later as a counter to people c-betting too often. To counter that you need to barrel more but that gets expensive so you also need to check/fold the flop a bit more.

As played you are bluff catching on the river and don't even have a very good bluff catcher because some of villain's bluffs with 66-99 beat you anyways. With another opponent behind you this is a fold on the river.

I deffo bet this turn. And TBH, doing that most likely the river much easier to play.
