Thoughts on extracting max value out of made hands at 1/2 2/3 Thoughts on extracting max value out of made hands at 1/2 2/3

Trying to improve my collect on made hands at 2/3... Here are some hypothetical situations interested to know what people think is the optimal line. Stacks 200.

Say you have AK in EP... I find its really hard to isolate at this game... even a cold open raise to 25 gets 2/3/4 callers. So say you raise pre to 19 in ep... flop comes K92 with a fd. I would tend to lead out for about $40/$50? if called I would probably lead turn for about 60-85 and obv pot committed. Any thoughts?

Button with A8s, raise to 12, two callers. Flop comes K98 all of your suit. Checks to you.

Options - Check
- Min value bet... say 15
- Bet Pot, make it look like a Cbet...

I tend to like the second option... gets callers from fd's, top pairs, straight draws... possibly gets a raise from sets, two pairs.

I figure these are the general options when holding a large made hand

- trapping... I guess best to do oop and against aggressive players
- Overbet (or perceived overbet) - I think for casino players this can sometimes be a potsize bet in a raised pot.
- value bet - I guess just milking as much as you can on each street....
maybe 1/2 psb on flop, then similar on turn river.

Would be interested to hear what people think about when to use each, what kind of villains etc... also what kind of bet sizing do you make for value bets?

I don't like slow playing at the low levels unless you have the board absolutely crushed and need them to catch up, or have a good sample on a very aggressive opponent that will certainly bet then you can raise him.

Bet lots
Get called lots
Show the goods lots

Thats basically it in a nutshell, and other situations will come down to a "it depends" answer. Is villian going to bluff at weakness, semi-bluff draws, check-raise, play fit or fold etc.... Whether they do that or not is up to you to figure out...

how do you raise A8 and it comes K98 all of your suit? you mean K97 or something, i.e. you flop a flush? i bet out.

It pays to have an aggro image. If you haven't play anything in a while and are suddenly making large bets or making bets at all even the most clueless ones figure out they're beat. Generally I like a bet/bet/bet line with nut hands, since c/r ing doesn't work against passive players (since they won't bet themselves) and scares them too much.

Aggro image pays off huge. Its nice when someone levels themself into calling your 2/3 pot river bet with 99 on a QT6r flop with 2 turn and 4 river while you hold 66 and you barreled turn and river. Then they mumble something about how they were certain I had J9 or KJ...

I would say, slowplay your big hands and c/r bluff the river with any other hand. That's another way to win big stacks.
