What's the best method for writing out hand histories at the tables? (Is there an app for this?)

I plan on typing out play by play hand histories for certain opponents, should they stick out as either exploitable or tough, and review these after the session. This is because the local poker room is small and it's usually the same handful of players that come and go, so I think it would help to be able to identify their habits and tendencies, bet sizing tells etc

Will be returning to poker, specifically 1/2 live NLHE games next month. Haven't played in a while but in that time, I realized just how poor my grasp was with the fundamentals of hold'em. I intend to do more studying/learning vs playing, like 60:40

I personally write up some of my bigger hands in my bankroll tracker app, which has an interface for doing so. It does take some time to fill in all the details.

I know some of the regs in my room document literally every hand the've been dealt by sending it in shorthand to a whatsapp group that they share and discuss it afterwards. This borders on collusion imo, but unlike my app it does seem to be fairly quick and efficient.

Vancouver there's no like awesome way to do it AFAIK. i used to just use a notes app, although my memory for significant hands is pretty good so i only ever wrote down ones with complex action that i wanted to review later.

get a good shorthand system going where everything is one letter (e.g. r = raise) and write it in whatever app is convenient for you. alternatively there are apps but i doubt they save you any time.

Where can I learn how to do more advanced math (EV calculations) away from the tables utilizing resources like ProPokertools (or whatever is in trend right now)?

I can't say specifically, but there is a ton of material on this topic online in the form of articles, free videos, and paid content on training sites.

Alternatively just run scenarios of the things you're trying to figure out and fire them through Stove until you hit a snag and need to google it.

Poker math is also likely one of the few categories of the game where books written on the topic are still relevant/accurate. So take a look on Amazon, likely any well rated poker math book will be useful.

My poker results tracking app is PokerJournal (I kinda doubt it's updated any more, but I don't know for sure). It has a neat feature where you can enter in players, position their personal loose/aggro/fish sliders appropriately, as well as enter notes on them (which is typically where I enter in HHs per player).
