Flat calling preflop seems the better play, partly because there was a small initial raise from EP.

If we raise, making it 100 is plenty.

As played, probably just check flop and hope villain checks it back. It looks like he has QQ+ and isn't folding.

Sounds like you just need to tighten up a bit in this game and everything else will fall into place. People always call you down because they think you have A high. Make hands and then put money in. It can be boring but it sounds like the right strategy where you are playing.

Also, I'm not trying to suggest you be a super nit or anything like that. It just seems like playing a bit tighter will be higher EV.

Solid advice, thanks. I'm just having a really hard time actualizing this strategy due to some sour luck.

Been there. Run bad can make it seem like nothing works no matter what you do. Just have to power through and play the next hand as best as you can. You can't control what cards come out.
