I like it sort of...
-We don't block any parts of his value range w/K
K
so we can get called by worse like all pairs and few 8x if he has them maybe A
8
?
-Flop is a mandatory value bet MW i'd go like 80-90 OTF here, there is 120 in the pot OTF. Yes our bet sizing doesn't matter vs. draws because any FD + 2 overs is going to call regardless of sizing we just care about setting up for a x-jam OTT/bet-fold OTT or good SPR in general for turn + rivers. I think if we go a bit bigger OTF we can def x-jam OTT a lot of the time.
...
In regards to x-jamming on the 8
it's pretty villain/card specific... If villain is very agro and likely going to bet his entire range on the 8
then this is a perfect spot. If villain is going to bet all his weak FD's/drawing hands, thin value bets like 77/8x, as well as 99-QQ we have an easy x-jam vs. that range.
I like it vs. any other villain (it's not a spew at all), but the
tight passive guy wow i think it's a close spot. Because i think this guy will... only bet stuff like the nuts like 6x/22 and then opt to x back a lot of his pair/SDV hands prolly never have a turn bluffing range after calling flop in this spot. His bet sizing seems to be polarized as well (nuts or bluff).
How are we doing against his bet/calling range OTT?
I'm bet/folding OTT vs. this said villain go half pot here maybe for protection/some value (checking all rivers if he calls). Bet/folding seems better vs. this villain given his low AFQ. I don't think we are inducing any bets/aggression from his other ranges to make x-jamming here profitable vs. this villain... we can still accomplish the same by betting.
