Home game, pokerrr, 1/2, 100 buyin...used to be physical home game...no rake, social, played for years together.

7th hand of session...I'm up to 160, villian has 93, other player 71.

Dealt black AA on button.

Three limpers (standard in our game)...I make it 15. Should I raise more?

UTG, villian, calls as does UTG+1 and UTG+2. 63 in pot.

Flop: 489, two hearts.

Villian donks 28, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls.

Villian is clueless player...he loves to play AK this way (call preflop raise, shove or call off flop when missed). He would also play 1010-QQ like this.
I'm TAG. Other player probably has some sort of draw or combo hand...he's a bit of a calling station and would raise two pair or set here.

With so little behind, seems like an auto shove?

Autoshove yes. Get it in and live with the variance-nothing else to do here.

It seems like with the given pre flop action that we should've gone larger. At 1/2 live, my standard raise size is $20 here.

Yes, auto shove flop.

I don't understand why anyone would wanna play in a 50 BB cap game though...

Pretty much every home game I've ever played is around 50bb buyin...people buyin a lot, and by the later stages of the evening stacks are often in the 300-500bb.

People don't know how to play short stacks in our game, and tend to call with awful hands with 20-30 bb facing a 5-10bb raise, and then either fold with enormous pot odds or shove with garbage.

As for this hand, I shoved, both called:

villain had 88, UTG+2 had 7-10 spades.

Set held up.

Personally I flat the donkbet hoping for an offsuit duece on the turn. Now there's $250 in the pot so if V jams and gets called I can comfortably fold getting 5:1

Half stacks are weird. Too deep to just go bananas pre, too shallow to do non-robo play. This size is fine and sets a 2 street hand up.

As played, it depends. Great flop obviously. But some people do this to “see where they are at”, as this guy sounds like. So having traps are a good idea. And having two aces seems like a decent candidate to trap with.
