As you've already stated if they have any equity both short stacks are calling no matter what so we are already going a minimum three ways to the turn. The question before us is how strong the calling range of the two other people that may or may not continue is. Yes, we can shove and narrow their calling ranges to just nutted hands and big draws - and get our money in bad in the sidepot. Or we can bet a reasonable size and make it hard for them to fold a bunch of second best hands, including Ax and 10x hands. Then we can play poker in a relatively small sidepot where V has to play very honestly and we can try to make some real money.
