$1/2 - largely the day time crew but it's getting close to dinner time. Table is full of $1/2 day time regs.

V ($275) - 135 years old. In a wheel chair, but not an OMC. Playing super wide and passive pre flop. Playing alternately loose or aggressive post and I can seem to decipher the algorithm in his head. Have seen him check the effective nuts on the river because it wasn't the nuts. I've also seen him fire away with air (4th pair, no draws) on river. Not sure what to make other than he's sticky and not very good.

H ($200) - immediately to V's left. I did raise his $20 turn bet to $55 4 handed and every one folded, and I showed 4-high (I know, never show). Was trying to get the day time players loosened up a little.

OTTH
A limp or two, including V, H gets 77 and raises to $11. This might go 8 ways, it might take it down. It goes 4 ways (BB, MP, CO{V}, HJ{H}).

Flop ($40)
Ts7s4x

x, x, V opens for $20, H raises to $50, V calls. Clearly I should have gone larger as V is calling $65 with any of his leading hands here.

Turn ($139)
Ts7s4x 8s

V leads for $20 after I c/r'd his flop bet. Certainly the 8s is a really bad hand for both my hand and my range. It's great for V's range but may be terrible for his hand, I don't know. I have roughly a PSB here behind. I was planning on basically betting any turn but this turn both hurts my hand and should scare V if I'm ahead.

H? Well H is a moron so I flat the $20....

River ($179)
Ts7s4x 8s 3x

A perfect river. V leads for $20 again. Tiny donk OTT and tiny donk OTR after I c/r'd his flop lead and all obvious draw came in OTT means he doesn't have it, correct? Clearly I raise the river and AI is the logical sizing????

pre meh, you only pay more rake
flop size no bueno
did you x/r or is v acting first?
had you built the pot otf you would've had yourself a straightforward turn ship

I'd go more pre & more OTF like ionutd explained. You could probably go $80 and get called just as quick. It's a wet board, lots of draws and TP call. As played, what do you think the $20 bets represent..? To me it seems face up... blocker bet with a weak hand. Maybe Tx or 2p. I'd try to go for V's stack.

Positions are screwed up - are you HJ/CO or CO/BTN and are you raising or c/r?
As the others have said, raise large flop, as played raise ship turn, as played ship river

I’m last to act. Flop is raise not c/r.

If I had ripped river like a normal, responsible human being then this hand wouldn’t have been posted....

Results: with the 100 yo guy firing 3 streets I flat the $20 on the river. V has ATcc for TPTK. I tilted myself for playing the hand so bad that I racked up like 3 hands later and left.

If you know what to do next time, don't worry about it. Not like you're the only guy who ever got MUBsy.

I’m cool with not raising turn. But once he comes firing out his 1/7th pot river bet thing, I’m feeling confident that I’ve the best hand. All in.

When I face "same bet" from anyone, it makes me consider:

* my hand is good
* if I raise nothing I beat is going to call me
* if I raise, I have to fold to any reraise

Is this always true?

No.

But when it's false, it's expensive to disregard.

Grunch.

More pre with your entire range. More OTF. Turn is a bad card but an old guy at 1/2 isn’t trying to induce here. This doesn’t mean you always have the best hand but a ship is printing money here.

As played, ship seems good OTR.

One thing this also highlights for me is how interlinked run-bad and play-bad are. I’m just emerging from a 3-400 hr stretch of run bad that has absolutely affected how I play, the posted hand being a prime example.

Last night I played at a really tough table for 2.5 hrs. In that time I had A’s 3 times, flopped a mid set twice, A’s up twice and the nut straight twice (raised QJss pre and flopped 8s9sTh). I made $336. A good 2-1/2 hr session but I think still readjusting I left a good $150-$200 on the table.
