Shove, call, or fold? 2/5 Shove, call, or fold? 2/5

I mean you can make it less, but since any amount is committing clearly, I tend to think it's better to just jam and at least look like you could be doing a desperation jam with a marginal showdown hand.

I really disagree with folding the flop.

Basically we are stating that V1 only raises a set here, which makes the jam of V2 not play any factor in our decision making.

Giving somebody such a tight range on a flush draw and straight draw board in a limped pot is definitely too narrow and leads to leaving value on the table.

I have also folded sets, but this spot really is more of a "soul" read and live "feeling/reading" spot than a theory hand to discuss here.

the thing with the fold is - can villain have 93 or 92? Can he have AA or KK?

Is this always 33 or 99?

some people don't get in 200bb stacks very light like they probably should unless they have the boarder line nuts. Would you fold 33 in this spot? Folding the set in this spot is pretty bad in theory even though you look like a genius.

He should be doing this with a hand like a pair + flush draw - TT+ or maybe even A9 to try and isolate. It is the only way he could play these hands. He should never be raising 99 here, it 's just ******ed, but he did and you were supposed to stack off, but you didn't. Crazy table for sure.

Based on your read of V1 and these stack sizes I guess I could see folding bottom set here. You said he seems like a competent player that shows up with the goods. Given that read and the preflop action I think it weights his range heavier towards 33. However I think you have to consider that he limped with a hand like QJdd. I guess you could call and check/eval the turn, but you could end up giving a free card to his drawing hands.

Your position sucks here, but 200bb deep with bottom set on a drawy board I think it's OK to shove in this spot to charge draws.

To reiterate, Fold IFF V1 is a nit.

Well...good read and you sniffed it out. but honestly 99% of ppl aren't folding here.

I've folded sets when obvious flushs or straights got there by the river but never on this kind of flop. I reckon a huge majority of the time you have the best hand with bottom set.

Except if you call it doesn't close the action right? Then V shoves and we fold after losing more?
