Should I say something when dealer misreads the showdown? Should I say something when dealer misreads the showdown?

Situation came up where I wasn't involved in a hand, but it caused somebody portion of the pot.

Arias 2-5....

There was bet and a call in the river.. Total in the pot is $325
Board is
A 3 8 k 3

Super aggressive guy shows his cards first
A Q

Beginner passive guy sitting right of me shows
A 10

When the beginner tabled his card, he states, "I got outkicked.. you win!" and shows the cards.. The super aggressive guy says... "ship it" and incredibly the dealer ships the pot to the super aggressive guy....

I was going to say something, but I didn't want to cause any ruckus. What is the etiquette on this? Should I have said something??

If the hands are tabled, as in both cards faced up on the table (but not in the muck area, room dependent), you should always say something.

Btw, this is a Brick and Mortar discussion.

It's everyone's obligation to be sure that the game's integrity is upheld, and this includes being sure that all tabled hands are read properly.

Proper etiquette says you should always speak up.

Same thing happened to me where dealer didn't see the straight that fish rivered, and mucked his hand and started shipping pot to reg who had higher pair. I spoke up, dealer still didn't see straight so I had to point it out and be the bad guy. + side was it gave fish more money, but reg player was not happy with me.

If you think it would be a huge deal and -EV then keep quiet, but speaking up is the "right" thing to do.

Also, as stated above - the rules stuff belongs in brick and mortar forum, or mortar and brick. I just know this EXACTLY bc I just posted this same thread there a while back.

Yeah the cards speak when they are tabled. It would've been different if he just showed one ace and then mucked his hand. Then I say you shouldn't say anything.

What everyone said. It is your job to speak up.
