Should I be more on the turn? Should I be more on the turn?

$1/$2 NLH

I'm in the HJ with 87

Folds to UTG +3, who limps. I call, CO min raises, BTN and SB call along with initial limper and myself.

Flop is 89A
Checks around

Turn is (89A)A

Checks to me, I bet $8. CO calls, the rest fold.

River is (89AA)9

I check, CO checks and shows TK.

Should I have bet more on the turn? I felt he would have bet an Ace or flush draw on the flop, so I was fairly certain the Ace on the turn didn't help him at all. Or should I have done something else somewhere else?

Thanks!

Raise pre yourself over 1 limper.

Check the turn and just get a cheap showdown.

Whats your thought process behind raising?

Also, if I raise and the CO reraises, I'm assuming I just fold?

Raise pre. You’d like to get the pot heads up, and u might buy the button here with a raise, to act last throughout the hand is a plus.
If u get 3bet it’s an easy fold.
As played just give up on the turn.
As played gotta fire the riv can’t take this to showdown, and a lot of draws missed

Needs some stack size information and information about villains. Raising, limping and folding could all be right the first time around. After the min raise seeing the flop is best, your getting way too good a price. Flop check with no draw and bottom pair is good.

Betting turn is OK but checking is OK also. You can represent an ace that checked flop and improved to a monster on the turn. Sizing is off though, it was around $20 on flop so $8 isn't enough. $10/$12 does a better job of representing at ace. $8 looks too much like some other hand trying to see if anybody else is interested.

River check is best after the turn call without a good read on villain. The 9 turns a lot of hands that call turn into hands that are never folding and lots of garbage beat you now. If you can put villain on a draw then betting as a bluff is best.

Villain is a total fish. He min raised preflop with total garbage, hoping to bluff or catch a favorable flop. And then didn't give up on turn despite having no pair/no draw. You might have been able to bluff him off river but given the way he played he might hero call river. He looks like the sort of loose/spazzy/stationary fish that you can't often bluff but you can value hard when you have it.

Raise pre (I don't hate overlimping here, but I like raising better) and don't invest another penny post-flop.

You haven't given any description of the table or any of the Vs in the hand so I can't say whether a raise is better than a call pre flop IMO. According to the action the pot size is about $15 after the rake? I do like a larger bet if you're going to bet make it $10-$15. With this pot size people aren't looking at sizing the same way in a live game. River is standard. You made a thin-ish value bet and got your value, in general these types of bets can increase your win rate nicely if used appropriately.
