yeah. or better yet is to hold a single large denomination chip in your hand and toss it past the line right before the end of the countdown.

usually when the floor is called over to do a countdown, when they get to zero, they will wait one beat after they say the word, "time" or "zero", and then they will declare the hand is dead.
