Is it a good first place to start your journey learning how to play winning poker? Sure. As good as any poker book. But will it on it's own teach you how to play winning poker in 2014? Not even ****ing close. Which is why it would be laughable to try and win arguments about poker on the internet saying ridiculous things like 'I read it in this little book called Super System, maybe you've heard of it'. That would be like trying to win an argument about chemistry saying 'I learned it in this little place called Kindergarten, maybe you've heard of it'.

Lol that the game has changed so much that most concepts described in SSII aren't applicable. Agreed, there are other resources that are better, but to dismiss it because it was written pre-Moneymaker is absurd. Also, saying "Lol Doyle couldn't even beat $100NL on Stars" isn't saying much. Live and iPoker are very different games requiring very different strategies and skills.

It's like you didn't read anything I wrote. I didn't say 'most concepts described in SSII aren't applicable'. I said it's like Kindergarten for poker. What they teach you in Kindergarten is applicable later in life too - but you'd look like a buffoon saying 'I learned it in this little place called Kindergarten, maybe you've heard of it. From this lady called Mrs. Anderson. Maybe you've heard of her'.
