villain was new to the table, been there only a few hands. tight, patient player opens UTG to $11 i call with AQ

villain in SB calls

Flop ($35) JT3
everyone checks

Turn ($35) 6
SB leads for $15, UTG folds, i call

River ($65) K
SB checks, hero?

SB has about $80 left in his stack (we cover)...

id bet on the smaller side - like half pot-ish

he doesnt look very strong here, so i dont think youre getting any calls from worse hands with a shove

value hands are probably betting more on the turn. AJ/KJ/JT is likely c-betting flop. QT is possible here, but a tight player isnt opening many combinations of Q9, and he might lead river as well - and wont bet turn either.

no idea what value hands he even has here so bet like $35 and maybe getting a call from Tx

I bet $45 and he shoved (check raised all in). I was planning on calling if he check raised with that bet size. Thoughts when he check raises?

Getting like 5.5 to 1, tough to fold with such a strong hand and such a weak line by villain.

If he had a flush, i would think hes leading river like he led turn a lot of the time.

Maybe its KT or Q9? I'm calling here, i don't think I can fold to such a weak line getting 5.5 to 1.

Yeah I can't imagine him checking the flush but he did have the K high flush and took a strange line. I was confused.

He showed K2 I couldn't imagine folding to his c/r and figured I'd have to call.

I fold this pre to a tight players UTG open. If he's not opening AJo then we're doing really bad against his range which is going to be pairs and AQ/AK.

Basically when you flop big equity against his hand it's often obvious that he's beat (he has TT and the flop is A74). And much of your equity comes in the form of having two overs on the flop and hitting one of them on the turn or river.

I like the fold on the river since you only have 4 outs to complete your straight. You know the old saying, be careful when having broadway cards when broadway cards flop".

The 3rd heart is a scare card and villain may have been playing it as a bluff so shoving or check calling are both ok in this situation. Folding as also a good option.

Sometimes there are monsters under the bad but most times they aren't. Sadly for you they were there this time.
