Recently made transition from online to cash Recently made transition from online to cash

Like the title says, I've recently made the transition from online (1/2 6max) cash to live cash (1/2).

There are 2 things I'm having trouble with:
1. How much to open/raise?
2. How much to raise the limper(s)?

How much to open raise.
I'm used to raising 2.5 BB's online and that usually gets things heads up. That is obviously not the case live. If I open/raise to $7, it seems to me, it's the same as limping in cause I still get around 5 callers. And it seems stupid to me to open/raise to $15 cause I'm risking $15 to win $3. My thinking is that I should raise to $12 in EP, $10 in MP, $8 in LP, $6 on the Button and $4 in the SB. Basically, I'm thinking I should raise more in early position and less in late position. Is my thinking correct or should I just keep my raises the same regardless of position?

How much to raise the limper(s).
Again, it seems like when I raise "pot", it does absolutely nothing with regards to folds. Obviously, I don't always want everyone to fold, but I'd at least like to narrow the field. Do I need to start over-raising to get these limpers to fold or stay in with a marginal hand? It just seems with 2 limpers, raising to $11 accomplishes nothing. Would making it something like $20 make more sense? Risking $20 to win $9 seems like an overbet to me. I don't know....I'm just kinda lost.

There are a million threads on this. Please check out the links in the Best of LLSNL. Also, a personal favorite is FlatTireSuited's Black Friday guide to transitioning to live in Brick and Moratar, which you can find here.
