Ok here's a revised range if you are a postflop dummy.

Counterpoint to the idea that you shouldn't be completing with ATC in the SB in a family pot:

Even the worst villains notice when someone folds the SB in a limped pot. And some percentage of those will adjust their calling range in the future based on this. Folding the SB is probably the easiest to spot nit/tight player attribute that it might be something worth avoiding.

FWIW I'm also a rec player who posts blinds when I sit down (like hell am I waiting another 15 min to play with the little time that I have to actually play), straddles, will do blind min-raises with people, etc. All of these are -EV in a vacuum, but they give people the impression that I give action - which means calling down light and being so over the top transparent when they have the goods (okay I'm the nittiest nit at the table but will shove for 3x pot and then get pissed when you don't call) that it feels like an overall +ev move.

Completing the SB is an incredibly low cost way of maintaining that image.

T8o and 97o seem like mandatory calls in OP's situation. You flop a straight 1% of the time, and that is a massive implied odds hand. If you are making even 20bb on average when you flop a straight and 10bb when you flop trips and two pair, you do better than break even by clicking "fold to any bet" all the other times.

Late to the convo, but if you folded all but the top 10% of starting hands from the SB, you probably would end up at break even from the SB. The positional disadvantage is so great that even the best players have trouble turining a profit with all but the best hands.

Now clearly no one folds that often because it is boring and we get tempted by "pot odds' and "implied odds". And we like to play hands of course.

But I would simply say if you have to ask yourself whether completing is a "good play" from the SB with a given hand, the answer is most likely no.

Agree. The range I put up is ball park for competent players. The top and bottom can def be adjusted.

I tend to widen with the suited combos first and to a larger extent. I don't go that deep with off suited. But yeah T8 and 97 completely fine.

Yep. Nailed it. If you lose money with these getting 9:1 then preflop is not your leak.

If there are 5 limpers ahead, I complete any two suited from SB. But blinds are 2/3 in my game.

I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t be squeezing with a bunch of these. There is a ton of money in the pot already, just take it down.

Even hands like 87s I’d rather squeeze with. They play much better as the aggressor where you can lead out of get a small piece versus a smaller field.

Everyone is always way too tight. Pretty much free money to raise vs your blinds if you fold nearly everything.
