Hero (200): 22yo have been at the table for less than an hour playing TAG.

Villain (175): Reg in the room who used to be a dealer. Probably around mid 40's and seems to know everyone. No significant reads on her play at this point.

I open AJ from UTG+1 to 12

FLOP
J64

I c bet 16 and Villain raises to 40. Hero?

this is a pretty bleh spot.

you didn't include her position. and you gotta have something a little better on her if you've been at the table for 30+ minutes. for example, does she ever raise post flop or even pre flop without basically having the nuts. does she have any sort of aggression factor at all. my baseline assumption at 1/2 is probably no.

i suspect the best answer is probably fold and don't tell anyone. she's probably never r/f this flop and if you get it in now the best you'll ever be is flipping and frequently stone dead. if you flat, you do a lot of complete guessing against a range that could easily have you completely crushed in the first place.

I'm almost insta folding here. You have TPTK but your hand has no way to improve unless you get sick runner runner FH/Quads. Just fold, move on to a more profitable spot. If they bluffed/semi-bluffed you, who cares. It's not happening enough at these limits for it to become a call in this spot.

She was in the CO and this was the first time she raised in my first hour at the table

She's probably not raising here without a made hand, or at the very least a hand with decent equity against your hand. Tough to continue.

Unless we know her to be super tight I don't think we can fold now. If we think she is always 3betting pre with QQ-AA we can't fold.

You have made a pretty standard cbet. She could raise this with KJ spades to protect her hand and charge draws.

If turn blanks and she bets strong then I'd fold, if she bets weak we can think about calling again. I think the only hand that might bet weakly on a blank turn is the nut flush - all other weak bets we beat or chop with. If she checks behind blank turn and river blanks we can go for value.

In the first hour did you ever see her put in a pre flop raise, how often? Did she call many pfr's? Answers to these questions would help us judge if she is only raising monsters here.
