W00T! Wife just got the dream job she interviewed for in December and didn't get. Second time's the charm! Promotion and raise, but also working on cutting edge stuff instead of routine boring stuff.

Frankly I'm just as happy she didn't have it during the madness, as it doesn't allow for WFH. The building is much better set up for dealing with COVID now, and they've spread the team that can't WFH out into some of the spaces newly opened by so many people who are WFH.

She's in government computer network security. Because the military keeps moving me around, she sometimes has awesome jobs hunting bad guys in the network and sometimes has jobs doing security audits and certification paperwork. Here in Indy, the bad-guy hunting team is really small, so she had to settle when we got here, but she just got onto the cool team and also got a promotion out of it.

Had a really strange session. I went with a female friend, who ended up getting piss-drunk and degening away a lot of money because another degen who likes her put up her buy-in so she ended up playing like a complete maniac. It was painful to watch honestly.

Said female friend also tried to wingman for me really hard. She bluntly asked the hottest chick there if she had a bf (she said no) and then asked her to go on a date with me. Not the approach I would have taken because I hadn't really interacted with her too much yet, but she did said yes. We'll see if it goes anywhere.

Lost a bit at poker but ship the $130K month anyway.

in case anyone was thinking about pulling teh plug on the airpods pro i highly recommend

had them for a while now and 9/10 purchase

noise cancellation is A+, better than the Bose I bought around the same price.

some of the worst players i've ever seen study an insane amount but are unable to apply what they've learned intelligently

the craziest things said at the table thread is a great example of this
