Speaking of food with friends, I told my roommate he could order w/e he wanted off the Whataburger menu on me tonight and he was stoked about that. Life EV ftw

Is this the Whataburger featuring the superfriendly 2 am prettysurehesapedophile cashier?

Re: ***"The Pen:" Official LLSNL Chat Thread***

Now that it's July, I would like to shout out my favorite exchange from the month of June.

There was some deleting and modifying of posts, so I'm going off of memory to the best of my ability.

<deleted exchange re-deleted>

I laughed so hard, I can't believe I didn't take a screenshot. That's probably my favorite internet exchange of all time.

I texted nine different people about it, and all gave some variation of a bunch of laughing emojis, "LOL/LMFAO/ETC," or elaborate responses about why they found it funny.

I told six different people about it in real life, and all gave a genuine laugh.

I live for moments like this.

EDIT: I also called my best friend who thinks that most of the interactions on here are stupid, and has told me several times I'm wasting my time posting in this and the coronaids thread, and he laughed really hard.

Last edited by Garick; Yesterday at 04:12 PM. Reason: here's a hint. If it was deleted, it was considered innapropriate and should not be re-posted

He's my best homie. I fear that he's gonna move out of state. He's a really smart guy though. I know you were trying to throw out a silly jab, but I like putting smart and driven people around me...I recognize how toxic the people in my home game and poker world in general are.

This is ackshually one of the few things in life that i figgered out on my own and it has done me insanely well. I bring a fair amt to the table in my own right. But all my gamboolin pals are smarter than i am. On my way to making the US team I found the dude that was the best athlete working his way up and we became training partners/travelling mates. Unfortunately the casino biz is so toxic it really takes a lot to balance out that negativity.

Not sure what part of my previous post was confusing. Contracting tends to be great for folks who want to do 4-ish years in the Air Force and then get out and make bank as part of the military-industrial complex. It's less common to see people stay in it for an entire military career. There aren't many Generals who are Contracting Officers. I'm not sure if that's because promotion opportunities are limited, because the opportunities to get out and make more money as a civilian are so tempting, or some combination of the two.

Generally, Contracting Officers work a base schedule of 7:30-4:30 M-F, with some long days at the end of each fiscal year, so it's relatively chill as military schedules go.
Sounds better than mercenary

But it's not an error to hear "Airforce" in WW2 movies as the term was already in use.

Yup. Aviation Section, Signal Corps - Army Air Service - Army Air Corps - Army Air Forces - United States Air Force.

Additionally, "Air Force" has been a subordinate unit designation of the last three of those organizations. For example, the 8th Air Force was a bombing command in England during WWII, and still exists as a component unit of the US Air Force.

Have done it before but I don't like it.

It makes paying seem like a bad thing you're stuck doing which isn't true. I'm happy to pick up the check and most of my friends are the same way.

For me with cc roulette, no matter that it is 0 ev, the benefit of winning does not come close to equaling the pain of losing

Haha true. If I lose at CCR it's like, ok I wouldn't have had a problem with paying in the first place but the losing aspect makes it so much worse.

The Superintendent of my high school was a Lt General that had previously been Superintendent of the Air Force Academy. He was a nice guy but his whole mission was to make us a bunch of sissies as if we were members of the Air Force.

I just try to have fun with it while I'm with the toxic people, then try to be around the most amazing people in the world in my free time. I feel like I've done a good job not letting those people ruin me.
