Gout = uric acid deposits. Allopurinal and Probenecid are treatments that have different mechanics so if one doesn't seem to work,,, try the other
Pseudo gout = calcium salt deposits. There is no known "cure".... only drugs to treat the symptoms (inflammation). On the other hand, not necessarily an ongoing or lifetime problem like gout "could be". Some have pseudo without ever knowing (only shows up on xray)

Only positive for gout is that cherry juice seems to help some.
The avoidance items are easier to identify. Read up on purines
HERE. BEER is a #1 avoidance. Alcohol, shellfish and some fish (salmonoids, sardines,cod) also.
Pseudo gout isn't really affected by diet.
