definitily worth finding a trustworthy and affordable tradesman when you're a home owner if you're not 'handy'

we've found a recently retired carpenter dude who we bring in once every few months to do all the odd/handy jobs I'm incapable of doing. I think we give him $30 kangaroos an hour and it's some of the best $$ I spend.

We've had him do a few bigger jobs too and he has a friend of a similar vintage who he'll bring in to help. I'm actually thinking about buying and installing a new garden shed and he'll be my point man for that too

Just get a transfusion from a swaggie. It’s gotta be less than 30 roobux per hour.

This sounds like what I need. Though in this case it is more about hands on deck than know-how.

Are the extra hands are an absolute requirement? I was able to do the pandamndemic without any help, just had to take my sweet time doing things. If a second hand was absolutely necessary, I would have attempted to recruit a friend / family member, can't imagine working with randoms.

@ Turtle

Also, all of my projects which have needed extra hands I've done with my two best friends Hank and Daniel, who are super helpful and kinda look like this guy:

I can't.

I have a 5 year old Ryobi battery drill that didn't work when I charged it. So I went to HD to replace the battery. Although there was a big sign that said something like "25 Years of Ryobi Parts" they didn't stock that kind of battery anymore, nor did any HD in the valley. They couldn't even tell me if the drill itself was broke because the current battery doesn't fit. So I found a battery repair store way up north and paid them $40 to repair the battery. Then I got home and realized I had already thrown away the charger. I assume it's like the battery and cannot be replaced.

If I count the worrying I think I have spent about 6 hours trying to fix the cheapest drill available in 2015, which is far more time than I actually used it.

$40 to fix a battery of the lowest grade cordless drill HD/Lowe’s carries is a waste of time and money. You would have been better off just buying a new tool/battery combo.

If you’re only going to use a tool once in a blue moon, look at Harbor Freight, the off brands on Amazon, Black and Decker, or Hart from Walmart. They’re all cheap. Buy them, use them, then chuck them or sell them in FB marketplace and rinse/repeat the next time you need it in several years. Better than storing something you rarely use anyway.

I recently made what is one of my best purchases of a creature comfort thing last week. SPC and I like our coffee. I got into aeropress and with quality beans and a decent grinder I can make a tasty cup.

I obtained a Breville Bambino Plus (it is one of Oprah's favorite things) and the reviews give it one mirrion stars. I paid 499.95 for this bad boy. If you dig coffee, and lattes, and stuff this thing is a game changer. Super ez to use and it makes a wonderful high octane foamy super duper tasty cup o jo in record time while taking up no more space than a regla coffee maker. Can not recommend enuf.

It does not have a built in grinder so u need one of those too or a model with one built in.

Thanks squid! I am going to buy one.

Amazon doesn't sell it. Might have to walk into one of those fancy coffee stores to pick one up.

It's from third party sellers. Crate & Barrel sells it, too, for $499.

Is cleaning hard?

I used to make my own coffee when my previous employer had a fancy espresso machine. But the whole process averages like 10 minutes because of cleaning.

Tanq - Super duper ez to clean and makes kick ass coffee. It does an auto clean of the foamer device, then u need to do a manual wipe of the foaming wand. Cleaning the cup for the grounds takes about 15 seconds. It is easier, faster, and waaaaay more better than a french press.

I get my beans whole from barringtoncoffee.com - they are really good, fresh, etc.

Been shooting up caffeine with Starbucks Via at 70 cents a pop.

I had forgotten that coffee can be enjoyable.

Thanks squid!

Bambino is for espresso right? Does that mean 'aeropress' is just another word for espresso? and thus Americano is just coffee... Glad you are rocking some starbucks craft.

Last summer I bought a $18 Mr Coffee from Big Lots after brain overload from reading all the options. I eventually settled on a French Press. But it takes way too long to steep to my liking. So every morning I brew in MrC and then transfer the contents to the Press and come back in 15 minutes.
