yes, I think it’s all realistic. I believe owners pay something like 20-25% above pay for taxes. They’re going to have some factor of markup on their employees for pay for all overhead. And then there is a factor for profit.
Couple this with the economy we’re currently in. I was talking to a landscaper about getting work done and many guys on his crew were not coming back because of federal unemployment. And that’s across the industry. So the guys that did come back are basically playing the companies against each other to drive their wages up.
There is also the possibility that it’s the “I don’t want to ****ing deal with this” price, but honestly, I would have expected it to be higher if that was the case, but YMMV
