Had family over for bbq

Beer while cooking is a requirement
Then people arrived, can’t have an empty hand
Then good news of brother in law getting a new job
We obviously had to switch to hard liquor

It's for the kids. You can claim you are getting them out of the house when really all you did was sit around and watch a movie.

Nipper radio had a spot on this. Apparently the rental companies went a bit overboard in reducing their fleets during covid. Now travel is exploding again and they are short handed. And Big Auto doesn't want to replenish them because car sales are exploding too, despite the global semiconductor shortage.

Beer to wine to scotch is my standard progression

Working really hard to stay dry during the week for health, sleep and training purposes but cooking on the weekend is my weakness

I’m lucky (or potentially unlucky) that I rarely get hangovers. The main impact of boozing is broken sleep.

I got away with it last night - woke at 3, 4 and 5 but managed to get back to sleep til 8

that's the beginning of figuring out celiac is a thing and not just a meme, karmic punishment for mocking gluten free as bs my whole life

Just got back from moab and I am now really into this mountain biking bizness. I'm really looking foreword to the snow being gone at PCMR and doing up some serious downhill MTB ackshun as well.

SPC killed it in moab and is now looking at some silly endurance stuff. There is a race from SLC to Vegas 36hr 500ish milez that she wants to do.

I try to use college wisdom and segregate beer days from wine/EtOH. But on the former I tend to volume out and have to switch from hops to odd mixes of Christian Bros Brandy in short order.

Tonight is Su:nner Koltsch. Strong but bland, just what I expect from the German shelf. B+

Why wait for no snow? There are insane videos of chineese down hill mtb down alp slopes starting on snow / ice for miles then gravel / hardpack lower down.

I was heavily involved in the xtreem scene back in the day when they were settin records on the snow. In fact I teched for my pal Curly when she broke the womenz speed record at les arcs (ballpark 115 mph but can no longer remember). I was able to witness furst hand several people getting extremely fubared tryin to go fast on the snow on mtn bikes. Minimal control. I was at the finish timing when one dudes front tire sank just a little on a soft patch taco'ed his front wheel blew out both knees and broke several bones.

In conclusion - no bikes and sno 4 me. Seein this shitshow first hand prolly kept me outta mountain bikin.

There's a Chevy dealer near my house whose lot I occasionally walk through. Last time I went by, I'm not sure they had any new cars on the lot. I think the only ones were in the used car area, and that was kind of sparse.

It's been something I've been considering, but I drive so little now, I should probably just keep my beaters.

After the competition, we walked to the train station. We got caught in a hot arid wind. Not sure if it was technically a haboob or a kumbang.

I thought Haboob = blinding dust cloud. But of course we have a Arabic Prof in the pen.
