Yeah, the lowest stake Limit games are very difficult to beat due to rake, even if filled with the most clueless players. Always loved how back in the day everyone would throw around a "you should be able to beat Limit for 2BB/hr" and yet I was pretty convinced that was impossible at the low rake-ravaged stakes. I kinda get the same sense regarding what is claimed possible at the lowest stake NL / limited BI / heavy raked games too (but I'll leave that shitstorm for the Winrates thread).

I get the sense that if GG is paid $30/hr watching paint dry - he wouldn't mind doing it for 40 years then only semi-retire and do it for fun.

That's totally ok, but I think that's a super minority in 2+2.

I actually have two painting projects that I'll likely start tonight, both involving white paint. Colour wasn't my choice, but I will indeed actually be watching white paint dry.

That dude Luis nargentino borrowed $1k from me then dusted it at BJ and told me he doesn’t owe me cause I didn’t answer the phone when he called me to drop the money off ...

Apparently there are like a million variations of white paint.

Good luck - sounds exciting!

OMG, I remember someone who did that back when it was $1/$2 limit and a $0.75 per half-hour seat rental.

Nope. I just go out of my way to play against worse players. Against better players, I have a rather poor record.

I don't play 1/2, but I see 1/2 hands posted with effective stacks of $1,000. My feeling is that as long as effective stacks are remotely this large, it should be a beatable game.

That’s a really good point if average stacks are 500bb u might be able to beat a 5$ rake

Lots of scumbags in poker, but there are lots of scumbags in the general population. The only difference is poker players deal with larger cash transactions on a daily basis than most people.

Of course I wouldn't loan any money to a degenerate gambler, but there are people I'd trust with six figures and all of them are poker players. In general I find it a lot easier to hang out with poker players because no one is gonna obsess over who owes who $10 because they ordered an extra appetizer at a group dinner.
