Showed up late today and couldn't get in a 1/3. So, I decided to screw around in the 4/8 limit game. My God do they play BAD! A decent 4/8 reg could make a lot of money in that game. I was goofing off and still won, but I don't have the stomach for that kind of nonsense anymore.

Two Fridays ago I took a seat in the Oaks' 6-12 LHE while waiting for a seat in the 1-2-3 game. My first hand, I got dealt AKo in the big blind, cold-4-bet when the action got to me, and four other players saw a K-high twotone flop in a pot that was capped preflop. The flush draw missed, and I made a big scoop.

But in general, that game is only moderately beatable for something between $12 and $24/hour (minimum wage in Emeryville is $16.84). I was a limit pro for years, but I am going to stick with the NLHE game for now.

Most 4-8 games, in California at least, aren't beatable because of the rake.

Entered a casino (Desert Diamond) for the first time since pre-covid Super Bowl. I made it 6' past the door before getting a refresher in casino people.
