Just grip it and rip it is the new school thought as far as I can tell. Pretty sure that’s an accepted thing now for teaching kids.

Yeah 20 yards should be ~2 clubs. I recall seeing a stat that a10 yard average increase off the tee equates to almost 1 shot per round for a single digit handicap. For a higher handicap I would expect it to be more.
I still putt well. Not like I did in the day but still well. I don't practice barely at all anymore tho
