Surprised "WAP" isn't on the list.

White Stripes don’t suck- they just aren’t great

Rest of those are fair game

Solid list, IMO. First and last especially. RHCP aren't really awful, they just aren't anywhere as good as their rep. They're like Smashmouth, but people think they are like REM.

Phish/Dead may be fine for jam bands, but not my thing.

State of New Jersey fixin' to ride on slim.

Spoiler:
Fortunately for him they can't cross the state line without setting off their ankle monitors.

RHCP. really? granted Californiacation made them way more mainstream but they were a solid band

bon jovi. do people really like bon jovi? or do people really like livin on a prayer and like 3 other songs? i think it's more the latter.

REM. they blow. **** Michael Stipe

Top ten 80's bands even slim and zoltan may not be familiar with:

In no particular order:
Aimless Device
Clan of Xymox
B-movie
Xmal Deutschland
I Spy
The Northern Pikes
The Stranglers (really bigger in the 70s, but they were ahead of their time)
Nick Kershaw
Romeo Void
Icicle Works

GG may be ahead of slim and zollie on this one, as several come from listening to Canadian Radio, when they had a minimum Canadian content per hour law. (is that still a thing?)

Bonus for most 80s video found while working on this list:

1) you are dead to me.

2) Based on what I've heard, the last two sentences are correct.

Mostly New Wave. One punk, a couple of basic rock.

At least four of them had at least one track on the charts.

Know of 5 of these with at least decent knowledge. I believe the founding member of The Stranglers recently passed but I can't recall his name

Pretty amazing stuffs. It's as if they were made by those who were locked in a basement for 6 months for listeners who are locked in other unconnected basements for 6 months.

are we limiting to only work from the 90s? or just bands/musicians that were mostly great during the 90s?

Mostly during the 90s would be acceptable.

Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins fall into this category.

I won a copy of Dookie in a radio contest, but it never arrived in mail.

Still mad about it.
