Re the losing mental acuity with age, I see this with my father. He was a long term Mensa member who went to the best/second best university in the UK and came top of his class in his math degree before being at the forefront of innovation in his chosen field. He was also a real alpha and a very tough disciplinarian when I was growing up

Now at 80, he’s still bright but a lot slower mentally as well as physically. He is also conflict averse and is a total pussy with my mother and regularly naps at lunchtime/falls asleep in front of the tv

I raise this because he’s not dissimilar in age to your two Presidential candidates. I’m a huge believer in wisdom and experience over youth and vigour when it comes to management and leadership candidates but by Jesus that’s a big job for someone in their lte 70s or early 80s

Did the decline coincide with watching his firstborn **** in the road?

Possible. My sample size is only about 10 hours and he was nice to me. Also folded to me a lot. He knew who the fish were.

I played with him in a tournament for about 4hrs years ago. He called my 3bet shove with KQs when I had AK. He doubled me up so I thought he was cool.

When I lived in LV I was told a story about the Orient Express:

Back when folks were still smoking at the table, Johnny took a bad beat of some sort, jumped up and fired an entire full ashtray at the dealer lit butts and all

I wasn’t there, but have heard this told several similar ways

I have heard only stories of negative behaviors -no one ever defended the guy, but they are all second hand to me.

Some guy @chess just offered to sell me a Subway card at @33 cents on the dollar. He admitted he wants to buy mini bottles of vodka with it. So obviously he drinks but I don't know how great a problem it is for him. I don't think he's homeless but pretty sure he doesn't own a car; no other reads.
