If you win a pot and you think that the person next to you steals one of your chips but you're no 100% sure if he did, how do you handle it? quietly go to the pit boss and ask him to check the cameras? would he?

I did nothing because I think he only grabbed a $5 chip and I wasn't sure how much exactly I started the hand with.

first:
start knowing the exact amount of chips you start the hand with.
you need this knowledge for deciding how much to bet to either get AI by the river, or to pot-control.
Also you can check if the dealer dropped correctly (sometimes new dealers drop to much).

second:
I'd go to the floor and tell him about the situation. In my local casino they do camera checks for Roulette-chip-owner-discussions as low as 2$ chips.
The real motivation for you to get the situation sorted out is not to get back your 5$, but to get the **** banned.

if you are not 100% sure then you should do nothing at all.

this is a huge accusation to make on someone while being uncertain it actually happened.

@ playbig yes, I would of looked and felt like an ass if I was wrong.

Who puts their damn hands near some ones chips when they aren't stacked? I actually counted my chips over and over ( even though I had no clue exactly how many I should have down to the dollar) just to see his body language. He started squirming and commenting on a bunch of little random things which made me think he did do it. He was a very talkative person but he would have full discussions with people. Not just go from person to person and comment on random things. And to add extra to that... he was no longer talkative to me the rest of his stay.

Just call him out, "Sir you grabbed one of my chips by accident." Any decent player will acknowledge, if he makes a fuss count out the pot and action, get the dealer involved who will call the floor.

I don't know my stack size down to the chip. I think it's unreasonable to expect anyone to.

Just be careful when raking it in, if it's a monster pot and chips are spilling in front of your neighbours be sure to scoop those up quickly. As long as you are careful to keep your chips in front of you this shouldn't cause any problems because there is never a reason for your neighbours to put their hands near your stack.

As played I'd let it go since you're not sure and it's not worth anyone's time to check if someone maybe took five dollars.
