As for the general premise of the thread, much of the advice here is hit or miss. Even when it is good advice it may not be easy to digest. I can't really comment on other sub forums as I was crushing online through 50NL without anyone else's assistance when I was 1/10th the player I am today.

it is not meant as a brag dont know what your problem is sir. i played the 8-game 2 months almost every day and didnt **** it up.

i mentioned it to make clear that my opponents propably play worse than me, there are just 40 regulars at 4$/8$ and a few fish that often reapear.

got my money in good alot and from my allin ev im at about 8k.

stud didnt make many atrocious calldowns/raisingwars either.

H/L is my biggest problem atm

edit: and i think i could still learn to valuebet better in limit. often i think i missed a valuebet, often i valueown myself. difficult

whys that?

is low live stakes such another world, so am i an arrogant prick to say what i said?
You have to keep in mind that this forum is a combination of beginning players new to poker, veteran players who have been playing -EV bad poker for years and are just starting to learn +EV play, online players transitioning to live play, solid ABC grinders who specialize in skewering fish and crushing donks (but have trouble against atypical players and/or thinking players), and +EV veteran players who have the live game dialed in.

So the posts in every thread will contain both good and bad advice. And the bad advice is very helpful because that bad advice will be the natural tendency of typical LLSNL players. So that post opens up the dialogue and allows us to correct said poster. We are able to explore how and why the post is incorrect and said poster (and lurkers) learns from his mistake.

Also, we tend to have more debates because unlike online play, there is more uncertainty in the live game simply because of limited sample sizes. For the most part, we will play less than 100 hands vs our villains whereas online you have databases of thousands of hands vs your villains all categorized in neat little stat boxes.

And this doesn't even account for the dramatic differences in skill level between players in LLSNL games vs online. This leads to dynamics that you just never see in an online game.

This forum is one of the most popular forums on here and it helps a lot of people. If you disagree with a thread, for the love of god PLEASE post your reasons why in the thread and post the correct line that you believe should be taken.

good ol times. as a hint, i noticed playing more pokervariants than holdem and plo will improve your game drasticly as you are forced to change your view on poker as there are so many aspects you dont see when playing just one format.

fwiw i think stud is an ultracomplex game. would like to play it potlimit one day

As others have said, it is a huge difference between 80% of the advice is bad and 80% of the threads have someone giving bad advice. I agree with this.

This is also true.

Therefore, I'm locking it up. OP, feel free to contribute to strat threads where you think the advice is bad.
