V just sat down, appears to be a recreational player, have seen him in the room before but no information. Looked to be on the nittier side.

2/5 eff stacks 600 (Hero has V covered)

2 limps, V raises to 15 in HJ.
Hero 3bet the button with QQ to 45
Limper folds, villian insta flats

Flop J27r (105)

Checked to Hero who bets 60, V calls

Turn 8 (225)

Checked to Hero who bets 145, V calls

River A (515) Villain jams it without much thought. 350 into 515

Hero?

No FD on flop? I fold river here pretty easily. This is AK or JJ most of the time, imo. I like the play to river.

Yup, this is a fold for me as well. A slow-played JJ, 77 or AA all fit. Or a fishy station with AK. Little else makes much sense.

Fold for sure, but why can't villain have AJ here?

With no info on V I think we have to fold. I think V has a set or 2 pair a lot here and some completely random suicide bluffs.

.....kind of talking myself into calling?

The board ran out rainbow.

Results: Hero tanked and thought the bet looked bluffy and thought he would value lighter with sets or even Aces up or AJ.

Hero folded. Villain proudly showed pocket nines.

Although I was not happy initialy I knew later I had to fold there. Thanks for the re assurance.

AJ is possible too, but raise/call pre seems more likely for AK and JJ.

Kinda makes sense, can't fault you for folding but there are a lot of suicide river bluffers at LLSNL. Don't think you fold was bad though.

Maybe you could've tried talking to V to get some extra info, people at LLSNL tend to give a lot away of you can get them to talk.

Grunch...

It's a nice line by him. This really depends how deep of a thinker you think he is... You said he appears nitty and reggish so it's probably a fold, but I like the way he played it regardless, we have to guess, and if we think he's a nit we should prob guess fold
