Hi all,

1/2 NL at Maryland Live Casino. I am up to around $350. V1 $250, V2 $60. V1 is middle aged Japanese man. V2 is older Korean woman. V1 seems TAG, V2 passive. Hero probably has nitty image, although I did triple barrel bluff one hand into V2's KK.

Hero QQ UTG+1 raises $13. V2 CO calls, V1 BTN calls.

Flop: 10s-10d-6h. Pot $42.

Hero checks, V2 checks, V1 bets $20. Hero calls, V2 calls. Pot $102.

Turn: Ks.

Hero checks, V2 checks, V1 bets $35. Hero?

Thanks,
DT

Fold is fine. I don't hate a small flop bet either, but checking is good.

Why in the world are you check flop? Our hand is absolutely destroying villains' ranges right now. We should be betting for value (many pocket pairs will call) and we should not be giving Kx and Ax hands a free card. Bet 1/2 pot or thereabouts on flop, and the hand gets a lot easier.

As played, I don't know. The Ks should change nothing. Villain is representing a T or a decent pocket pair. like 77-99 and JJ. I probably call turn.

Honestly, those 10s scared the crap out of me. I didn't want to play a big pot in case someone flopped trips. I agree maybe too passive to check flop and I could have called turn. But what if V barrels river big? Then what?

As played, turn is close and a river shove is probably a fold. There are no draws that bet, bet, shove.

Good play. I always check and call most flops with the plan to fold.
Actually, also fold all flops with any over card to my pair, any flop with a draw or any flop where I doh't have top two pair. My strategy is an aggressive-folding because as the popular saying goes: "You can't lose what you don't put in the middle"

Yeah but you already put money in the middle.

Flop is fine, even more so if we induce a bet from the BTN.

If this was HU we should definitely be calling turn for this price. The fact that it's a MW pot probably makes the turn a fold. V2 probably has a lot of Tx in her range after overcalling flop.

Actually I think once we call turn a lot of both our calling range has middle pairs and some amount of Tx, but still mostly middle pairs, which makes for a good double barrel spot especially if villain can do it cheaply especially on a K turn. That said it might still be dicey enough to be a fold but I think it's reasonably often that villain would want to bet again with air, and definitely with the various draws he can have.
