Live 1/2nl

The table had a lot of money on it and I hadn't been there too long, but long enough to see that villain is a fish and plays a ton of pots and isn't very good. The players were all complaining that he amassed his stack by chasing and hitting gutshots, rivering trips, etc.

I'm sitting with ~300 and villain covers

Three players fold and I open QdQh to 11. Villain calls on the button as do the blinds, who each have about 200.

Flop is Jd7d6c

Blinds check and I bet 35. Villain calls and the blinds fold.

Turn is 4c

I bet 90 leaving about 160 behind and he think for a little while before raising to 190. Hero?

As you stated, "fish amassed his stack by chasing." He's now showing aggression into you rather than being passive...this should be a red flag. I think you're beat here with all sorts of combinations...he could've been calling with anything on the button considering his range is wide open. I fold and look for a better spot.

I like a larger raise to 15 preflop in 1/2 by the way....charge the loose fish.

If he's as described, I would ship it thinking he has Jx... And hope x>7

Actually, I guess chasing wasn't a great descriptor, because the hand he hit the gutshot he was the aggressor apparently. He was betting into the player on my right for three streets and then players on my right had two pair and the nut flush draw and the fish hit a 3 outer on the river and bet again.

Not sure how much it changes it, but it gave me the image of a more aggressive player

To expand on my answer, I think when you bet 90, you already put essentially half your stack into this pot and are now committed. Am I wrong?

Ryno,

Yeah assuming I had $300 to start the hand, I'll have put in $11+35+90 leaving me 164 behind. So yeah just about half my stack. There was also some additional dead money in the pot from the two blinds who called preflop. So I really only need about 25% equity if I get it in here for it to be profitable, and that's assuming that's there absolutely no fold equity, which we can't say for sure. So I better be very certain that I am crushed here to be folding here, right?

Thats what i would think, but im still learning , sooo...I find it very hard to believe he has 85 here, even though I've seen worse at these levels. I would think if he's as aggressive as you say, he would re-raise pre flop with any pair on the button, so I would eliminate a set. You have 8 outs against 2 pair. My guess is he had a jack and picked up the club draw on the turn

Board: Jh 7c 6c 4c
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 39.037% 39.04% 00.00% 3504 0.00 { QQ }
Hand 1: 60.963% 60.96% 00.00% 5472 0.00 { JJ, 77-66, AJs, 76s, 53s, AJo, 76o }

With dead money, in the pot, I can't really see folding here.

The board was actually Jd7d6c4c so there where no flushes possible yet. Not sure how that will effect your analysis
Also, think that some Ahigh flush draws + pair + FDs are possible. Can we include 85s too?

I agree though that our equity against his perceived range is too good to fold with so much money already in the pot.

Is anyone against my turn bet or effectively playing my hands for stacks oop 150bb deep?
