Hero decides that if he shoves or folds the HH won't be as interesting so he just calls.

River: 76427 ($352) $324 back.
Hero?

As played ott, by not shoving I feel like we put ourselves in a spot otr where we stand to lose the most vs better and win the least vs worse. If v is going to be overplaying and calling ott I think we should be shoving.

Spike, how are you playing AAc/AA no club and KKc/ KK no club in this spot on this same runout?

Re: QQ go for huge value or let Don Rickles roast himself?

I play with Don a lot too, and think he perceives me differently than he does Spike.

He doesn't seem as willing to bluff me, and more willing to fold when I bet into him. So I'm inclined to think I'd take a c/c, c/c, lead out line on this board if I didn't come out betting OTF. While realizing that I may be losing a little value OTR occasionally when he would have bluffed.

Since he does seem more willing to bluff other players (including Spike), I feel like this is a pair+FD type of spot, which could be A6 or A4 as easily as it is A7 (maybe moreso from combos), and could include a small overpair with a club. Also an A5 with *either* being a club might do this. So I'm inclined to check/jam him. Although the more I think about it the more I think raising the turn might have been better.

This is part of why I loathe playing out of the blinds or UTG. OOP sucks.

I'm fairly sure I saw this board, but don't remember the action very well, or the hands that were or weren't shown.

Great terrible river card. Really the only difference it makes is that you should always check/call rather then considering check/shove.

The whole point of checking turn was that hero expected villain to continue his bluffs. That is a great card for villain to represent so he is more likely to bluff. Can't fold now.

Check/shove turn. As played, not folding.

Re: QQ go for huge value or let Don Rickles roast himself?

In retrospect, I think I left 100bb on the table on this hand.

If I take the check call line on the flop, I need to be check shoving the turn pretty often. I also think I need to be leading the river a decent amount too. He doesn't have many 7x in his range IMO and if he does, well nice river sir. overpairs are a really big part of his range and I don't think he can find a fold.

Shoving turn seems like the obvious play though. Wanted to post one I thought I butchered. Mission accomplished.

It's just really nice to have a hand this strong to check sometimes while still being able play well/get 1-2 streets on runouts you like whether V elects to bet or ck back flop, particularly in a spot where you're really not doing great range v range.

Re: QQ go for huge value or let Don Rickles roast himself?

That's one of the benefits of how I played it. Ch/shove turn still accomplishes this mostly though and doesn't let him escape with any chips unrisked. One thing to consider though is that this is a reg in a small player pool so we'll see if this sticks in his brain at all and slows him down enough to let me start peeling some cards where he may have bombed the pot before. You'd think it would but I have owned him a few times calling his big bets so probably not.

It's funny how differently I am perceived and adjusted to from Angrist. We don't play THAT differently. I think a few players have spread the word that I play garbage most of the time so it's ok to call me down. I've cut most of that out tbh because I don't have any FE against most of them. I'm still playing a much stronger range than any of them.
