Ahoy, I'm new guy on the block.
I used to play a lot of LSLNL 8-10 years ago, mostly to bankroll my education, now I'm doing it for fun/some side income/out of boredom because of COVID. I've read some theory a billion years ago, but I'm somewhere in between crappy and below average.
International game, I'll just stick to BBs, the amounts don't mean much and I play in a considerably cheaper country than the US.
The poker room I play in is a bit of a mad house, buying in with less than 300 BBs is close to meaningless, the standard reflop raise is anything between 5 and 25 BBs, the average is like 12-15. You can straddle 2-3 BBs UTG and it can be doubled up all the way to the BTN in theory, also there is a possible BTN straddle which has no limit (the largest I've seen was like 200BBs).
Hero: probably seen as nitty, I've been sitting at the table for 2.5 hours, shown a KK which got destroyed by T3s, AA once, and AQ twice, stole a few smallish pots, that's about it. Approx 700BB deep.
Villain: 30 something guy, LAG, shown okay hands, is capable of moves.
Hero is on the BTN, Villain is 3BB straddle.
2 stations call the straddle, the rest folds to Hero, Hero raises to 21BB, Villain raises to 61BB. Hero decides to call.
Flop: 27Jr
Villain donks 122 BB
Hero?
I'm not even sure about the pre-flop game, do we 4-bet smallish and fold to shove? I'm normally comfortable playing deep, but this was such a weird spot.
