2/2 game.

First hand for Hero at the table, after the other table broke.

Hero, late 20s white male, played at at another table with V2 and won a lot, hitting hands and getting paid off. Stack 1300

V1: wanna be pro. white male 20s, hoodie, ipad, wireless headphones. talking strategy nons top. making some really bad preflop errors all the time and not behaving cleverly towards recs. stack 300.

V2: good pro that apparently makes a living only playing 2/2. 20s male, arab. Has played a few sessions with hero and seems to have respect for our game. Once only flatted AA vs Hero oop deep and got it in on flop vs Hero flush draw and gutshot and we split the pot. Other than that not have played significant pots even though having played 10+ sessions together. Stack 700, most from flopping a baby flush and getting full payout. In Heros eyes rather tight preflop and not involved in a lot of pots, but certainly capable of bluffing.

OTH

V2 straddles BTN to 4, Hero SB QQ 22, V1 calls BB, folds to V2 in BTN who 3bets to 68. Hero calls 68, V1 calls 68.

Flop 3 way 204
267

Hero checks, V1 checks, V2 bets 88, Hero calls, V1 calls.

Turn 468
2678

Checks through.

River 468
2678T

Checks through.

Spoiler:
V2 shows AK and V1 wins with T9

I am not sure if I should have 4bet pre, but I felt I would be in an akward spot if i 4bet to 200 and he flats/jams. What do you think?

My plan was to fire if the river wasnt a K, T, 9, A

I thought it was well played by hero... tough to find a 4 bet when the 3btr is a good player that has 3 bet an UTG raise. Call on the flop seems standard... (the bet looked a little weak). OTT standard. OTR - I might have been tempted to try for a little value (althought maybe not as TT was def in V2 range.

Seems like V1 played to get as little value as possible.

Pretty standard readless. Lol at V1.

I prefer a check-raise on the flop here. I think your over-pair is ahead a lot, as I think V's 3! range is pretty wide here (enough to dilute AA and KK), based on OP's description. Also, this c-bet from this V of $88 into $205 is pretty weak. This looks like a "I gotta c-bet this" or "I have a draw" much more than "I want to charge the draws so I better not give 'em odds" situation.

I'd raise $200 as a raise-fold. If called, I check-fold any turn bet and then evaluate the river.

At least that's what I think I'd do.

Based on the results, it looks like my suggested raise might have worked, because even this V won't like chasing a gut-shot most of the time.

At least I think he won't.

Based on cbet sizing alone, I'd go for a c/r OTF. I feel like if BN had a big hand like KK, he'd want to bet more for value and to charge draws. C/r also gives us a chance to fold out V1 if he has a draw, and get HU with likely the best hand.

If we get shoved on by BN it's likely a fold. At worst he'll have something like AK which is actually ahead of us equity wise.
