It's probably a somewhat reasonable range to 3-bet SB vs. BU. However, an overall 3-bet % that high is spewy at 6-max and maniacal at full-ring.
That being said. People defend against 3-bets very poorly in live poker. I imagine we could 3-bet more live than online as long as the opener is not overly tight. People defend 3-bets by flatting far too often allowing us to realize equity and play too fit/fold post-flop.

Oddly, 16% is the frequency Ed Miller advocates in The Course to 3 bet a button steal raise from the blinds with the range of 99+. 44-22, A2s+, KJs+. K7s-K5s, Q9s, 98s-54s, J9s-86s, AJo+, KQo, in addition to calling with many other hands.

That definitely isnt standard 3b range SB or BB vs BTN, especially live. It’s moreso for online/6-max.
Regardless, that’s a pretty terrible 3b range and im sure he hasnt played midstakes online or even 100NL/50NL in the past 3 years very profitably if he’s suggesting a range like that
BB range should be more polarized and SB is mostly linear/some polarization, their 3b ranges look a lot different

If this guy is the best player at the table why are you tangling with him in a horrible position (we have niether the hand strength, nor position, nor ability over him)?
If as a winning player, V is not the best or 2-3rd best at the table, why are we at this table?
