I guess computer science wife must identify more with the geekery (if not the degeneracy) of poker more than random met-at-19 year old wife.
Yeah, first wife just saw poker as gambling. Current wife likes it conceptually, but finds playing it boring. Her dad was a semi-pro degen way back in the day. Phil Hellmuth apparently used to play at her dad's home game back when he was a student at UW-Madison. Dad-in-law's poker was part of what broke up marriage with mom-in-law, so she was a bit dubious at first, but once she saw the math involved, she was supportive. Also more dismissive of dad, who went by "gut"...

future goals in teh pokerz?
Short term: get 100% comfortable at $2/5. I'm rolled for it, but get to play it soo little that I still have to get used to it for a couple of sessions before it's just chips.
Medium term: build a role and the skill to be a 5/10 reg, and/or a 100NL reg if online poker comes back in the US.
Long term: I'd like to be rolled to play tournaments that are actually plus EV in structure (generally $1K+ buy-ins) and learn enough to be a winning player in them.

If you could be any animal wat would u be?
Human? I like having reasoning skills and tools. If not allowed, I guess tiger (I like Hobbes) or otter (playing all day sounds like a good life).

, what do you predict as the future of poker?
Is poker sustainable or will it fizzle out within the next 10-20 yrs?
That depends on so many factors. I don't see it ever going away completely, but I think it will contract more and be less profitable before it expands and gets easy again.
As the game gets more solved, the fishing will dry up, but factors like return of OL, another hit movie about poker, etc. will bring it up from its low from time to time.
When the next real boom comes, though, it may well not be NLHE, as that game is so studied that casual players are less interested because it takes so much work and/or know that they have a skill deficit, so are less interested. It also won't be PLO as so many think, though. That game is just way too high variance for most casual players. It will probably be an action game that isn't as quick a trip to busto-ville, but it could even be a return to limit HE.

If ADP makes a move after few too many drinks, would you let him feel you up or deny him?
