Lots of people do use apps to take notes. If they don't want to be obvious, they write their note during a smoke or bathroom break. Just keep in mind that if you pull your phone out and start tapping into it after a hand at the table, it will be perceived as you paying attention.

What are you trying to take notes of exactly? I probably record 1-3 hands each session to go over afterwards with friends. Easy to do this on the phone after the hand. As far as player profiles and such, it's pretty easy to pick up and remember.

Or using Tinder, or texting, or playing Angry Birds, or watching episodes of Frasier, or using Tinder.

I think most people at 1/2 don't pick up on this stuff, and I'm rarely sitting next to someone who does. I usually take mental notes of a few hands, but I doubt someone would notice you picking up your phone to jot a few notes as long as you're discreet about it. People text at the table all the time.

More importantly, even if they do notice most players at LLSNL won't be able to exploit it. The only thing that really look for is if someone else is exploiting reads that I've been gathering myself. In other words, I think it's more important to pay attention to their actions in hands than out of them.

In general I consider it percieved the opposite way. Guy messing around on their phone = not paying attention /too bored or whatever. Now if they see what you are doing sure I agree. Or if they see you scribbling notes into a notebook then yea definitely. But unless someone spots what you are doing on your phone, you should be alright.

I usually type 1-3 hands into my phone during each session as well. I also scroll through Instagram and Snapchat while playing so I'm not polarized

nobody at 2/5 notices or cares what you're doing on your phone... b/c they are all too busy... on their phones

PokerJournal has a Players feature will allows you to add players and take notes on them. I use it constantly when at the table, and I'm guessing (???) people just thinking I'm texting.

Who cares if people notice you taking notes? Unless they are super detailed I think you should be able to remember most. Like a note that says "He plays draws aggressively" is useless because that's super easy to remember.

Yea this. No one will think you are taking notes because most think that the very idea is absurd. Have you ever watched a reg on his phone? I have yet to see one taking notes. They are always doing random crap.

I like using Evernote a lot. It's great that it syncs with your computer. Makes it a lot easier to send hands to others etc.

I have Poker Income Pro (apple). you can record hands and create player profiles. Develop a shorthand so that you can do this quickly.

Yup, Poker Notes Live. Available on Android and iOS. You can try it for free. If you like it, there's a Premium version of the app (to save the notes long term).

DM if you have any additional questions about it.

No one will care if you take notes.

An OMC used to bring a notepad and publicly takes notes at the table. I used to write "you suck ass" when he was away from the table.

It was all just a big joke and nobody cared.

I thought my paper notepad made me look like I have a bad memory (I do) and that I "suck ass". I'm glad to see it makes me look like I'm paying attention
