What poker apps do the people of the LLSNL forum use? There are more than a few of them out there and I'd like to hear from you guys about your opinions about any that you've used. Im definitely going to get some type of session tracking app, but I wanted to hear what you guys have used and what you liked/disliked about them. Please use the specific names of the apps if you can.

Anyone have any input? Or is there a better forum that I should post this in?

Poker journal is the best by far for session tracking tho it costs around $10. Poker cruncher is a great app too and is basically the mobile version of poker stove. It quickly calculates odds for hands, ranges, hand charts, etc

I have been using the free "lite" version of poker journal and am happy with it. It has a lot of functionality. I'm sure the $10 has plenty of extra features, but the free one seems adequate to me.

I use "poker sniper" as pokerstove and like it a lot.

I have also used bravo poker lite to learn about various poker rooms and their games/structures/promos when I'm playing somewhere foreign.

The "notes" app can be useful too;-)

ok thanks for the input guys. clearly poker journal has the majority consensus so I'm definitely gonna check that out. And I'll take a look at poker cruncher too.

Any of you guys use a live HUD? You know, something like Donkeytracker?

Or at least some way to keep notes? I mean, if you take notes on paper it's super obvious, but if you're just dicking around with a smartphone half the table's doing it right?

Poker Track Pro is what I use. I've used to it for a couple years now and it's great for everything needed in live play. Graphs are good and easy to search through. It's also constantly updated with improvements

I use Evernote to take notes at the table. Syncs nicely to all my other devices as well.

There should be some easier apps available but I haven't found anything better than what is listed.

I've been using Donkeytracker for VPIP/PFR, and you're absolutely right, most people assume I'm playing Words With Friends or changing songs for my headphones. In about 200 hours of using it I've had only one instance of a player in a Harley Davidson shirt to my left seeing the words "Donkey Tracker" on my phone and acting mildly offended/calling me down just so he could say, "Who's the donkey now? WHO'S THE DONKEY NOW?"

I do know of other HUDs that track other stats like c-bets/flop aggression/check-raises, etc, but I just don't think those numbers are very useful for 4 hour sessions, esp when players tend to sit for 100 hands before being replaced. For those sort of things I like to pay a lot more attention to context, i.e. he folded to a 3bet from a nit, or he c-bet in a HU pot but checked when first to act five handed, etc.

As far as other apps go, I've used Poker Income, but I think I'll take a look at Poker Journal to see if it's any better.

Yeah non-basic HUD stats are all but useless in any context outside of HU cash. Paying attention to gameflow is loads better.

I don't know of any live HUD apps that track postflop play though... I know Deco made an Android app that afaik tracks steal and 3bet stats as well. That's about the only other live HUD I know of.

I use 3 apps
Poker income pro: for tracking my sessions
Evernote: for note taking
Poker odds: for an odds calculator

I used to use poker journal and changed to poker income pro, personally I prefer poker income pro

There are a couple I know of. Poker Income has a feature that allows you to track postflop stats like check/raises, and it allows you to save profiles...but I don't like the layout of it very much and I really don't want to be fiddling with an app for too long while I'm in a hand. There is a company from Singapore that created an app called PokerLiveHUD, and that app tracked c-bets and donks..but it seemed to spit out incorrect percentages when I was playing around with it the first day, so I dropped it pretty quickly. Guess I'm a fish when it comes to paying companies off for bad apps.

Well at least the information you gain is +EV for the rest of us.

It really isn't that hard to use notes + short handed entry methods.

If you need an app to do it for you, you're not thinking hard enough.
