Hi all,

Just moved to the burbs in North New Jersey and am trying to figure out which casino to try for poker. For long weekends I head down to Borgata but wanted to try something new. I am about 1:30 from Parx in Philly and the same distance to Mount Airy Casino in the Poconos. Has anyone played at the Poconos Casino before? Thoughts?

Parx has the best action in PA by far. Your best bet is to go there when your not at borgata

Never been to Mount Airy or Mohegan in the Poconos, but the action definitely isn't as good as Sands or Parx.

Sands is a good room, always action 1/2 and 2/5, but kind of sucks that the room is right in the middle of the casino so you have all the annoying noise and traffic. They cap buyin in the 2/5 at $600, but sometimes run a deeper game.

Parx is a great room, best action in PA, completely separate building from the main casino, and well run.

Parx > Borgata imo since I hate Borgata's chips.

Thanks for the input guys. Will definitely give Parx a shot as well but fear hitting some traffic heading up from North Jersey. The drive to Bethlehem is more out of the way so really want to give it a go at Sands

The Parx Big Stax poker tournament series are running through the 10th. That means even more players in the pool then usual. It also means leaving extra time to get a seat though, as so many dealers are tied up dealing the tournaments.

Sands is good but action above 2/5 has been hit and miss lately. If you play 1:2 or 2/5 plenty of games though
