1/1/2 nl game. I've only been at the table for one orbit but I'm already up 25bbs. Bought in for 100bbs. I have QQ in the bb. 5 limpers. I raise to $17. Everybody folds except late 20's hipster looking guy in mp with about 100bbs. Pot is about $45.

flop comes 823

I lead for $20. He calls pretty fast.

turn is a 5

I lead for $35. He raises to $80. I tank and fold.

Looking back now I don't like my fold. I was thinking about going all-in b/c his value range is really narrow. What is he repping? Set and A4, thats about it. 99 TT JJ are probably gonna get a pfr raise. Did he slowplay AA or KK? maybe, but this would be kinda a weird line to take with those hands.

I wanted to call but being oop, I didn't want to call, check river and have him shove his remaining $80 bucks when the hits or an A, 4, or 6 hits. So I folded.

I'm very new to live ssnl. I've only played online 25nl and lower.

Well, yeah, i don't like this fold either. You have possibly (inadvertently?) underrepped your hand OTT with a bet of 35 into an 85 pot. I would probably raise you with any two after a bet like that, assuming you had 2 overs that you were willing to dump. Fast call OTF can indicate a diamond draw on this board.

Bet sizing on both the flop and turn needs to be larger. There's the whole "giving Villain correct odds to draw" issue, but also SPR is about 5 going to the flop, so if we want to get stacks in without a huge-looking river shove (as we should on many runouts), betting something like ~30/60/90 would be a better idea.

Small bet sizing also gets interpreted oddly by some opponents, which can sometimes induce spazz raises. One thing that makes LLSNL opponents relatively easy to play against is that they rarely bluff-raise, meaning we can comfortably b/f overpairs all day, extracting max value while virtually never folding the best hand. The last thing we want to do is encourage them to raise occasionally with hands that are behind TPTK/overpairs.

Bet sizing is rough. Stacks are really awkward at 100BB effective. Agree with 30ish on flop and 60ish on turn. If he raises turn he will be shoving. Sans reads I maybe give him credit for sets/A4dd/76dd.

Snap fold is no good. This is a call and evaluate on the river. Something else you could do is bet like $30 or something small on the river as a blocker bet but the stack sizes at this point are kind of small.

The turn is a great semi bluff card btw.

As played I shove. Very good chance he has diamond draw

Bet bigger pre, bigger flop, bigger turn. With your small bet sizing, I would have raised you, too. I don't think I'm folding, but I wouldn't be here so tough to say. I can't really put him on two pair, so we are behind a set, A4 and 46.

Edit: I don't call here. I shove. Not about to give him another card.

I don't see a V folding draws or pair+ draws after putting 60% of their stack in to a shove but you have to anyway.

Missed the 5 limpers. In live poker preflop raise OOP with QQ in this spot should be at least $25. That puts V at $175 to play the rest of the hand.

I think maybe someone suggested a 30/60/90 line earlier? I'd go more like 25/45/90 as V will have to semi-bluff shove turn and would probably raise flop with a set to get more value in before scare cards slow down an overpair.

Getting in 100 bb here all day, with 1/3 of effective stacks in already.

Your small sizing makes this an incredibly difficult spot because, like somebody pointed out, you've underrepped your hand and it may be interpreted to him that you are weak/scared. It was only slightly more than a minraise so it's difficult to know if its for value.

yeah, the turn bet was superweak, but he is still ranging you at TT+, so unless he was making some kind of combo move, don't worry about it.

Live players waaaay overvalue over pairs. This is likely 99+, live players don't necessarily like raising medium pockets, even JJ might limp call because "I always lose with them" as played I prefer a bigger turn bet tha polarizes you, so that he doesn't feel like he has to protect his overpair

Guys what two pair does he have on this board. This guy would have to be playing a huge percentage of hands to have two pairs here. If he is, OP should have noticed.

His range is sets, over pairs, some draws, and some random spazzing. Very few two pairs.

I'm not folding here.
