This may be too much of a beginners question but I wanted to get some deeper thoughts on what factors go into playing a drawing hand. I know the possibilities are endless so I will give you an example of a hand I played over the weekend at the local casino.
1/2 NL
V is a NIT reg (100bb)
H is in CO with A3d and opens to $8
V in BB calls

Flop ~ $17
Kd 5d 10c
What is the goal here against a)
NIT who checks
A Fish who always c bets
A solid Reg who usually bets for value
*I feel in my mind that I want to see the next street at cheaply as possible.
Is this correct thought process???

Flop x x

Turn ~$17

2d

Our Nut flush gets there, now what???
A value bet?
Do we flat a call here or raise?
What situations should we be afraid and/or aware of? Other than a paired board of course.
Do we ever want to check in this spot?

I still have a hard time understanding when to bet draws and when to check them. And for that case when to fold them.

I just want a little insight into ALL THE FACTORS that you regs tale into consideration when playing a hand like this.

There are no situations to fear when you have the nuts. Bet flop bet turn, not close.

Bet flop to increase size of the pot. It's always easier to get paid before you hit the flush than after. You don't have to worry about board pairing if BB checks to you. If BB bets, just call because you have position, and you can raise safe rivers or just flat if the board pairs. Never check back turn

100% cbet flop check or bet turn based on opponents tendencies and your image

FWIW in your example the villain "fish" is donk betting into you, not making a cbet. You were the preflop raiser.

Generally, most villains will check to you on the flop. I'd make whatever your standard cbet is with an overcard and the nut flush draw. A donk bet is a made hand of some sort that is afraid of the flush draw, especially if it a large bet. He's almost never going to call you on 2 streets when the draw comes in. I'd check the turn behind him and call/bet the river.
