Playing AA UTG+1 on wet board

Hi there,

I was playing 1/2 at my local casino last night. I was playing like 800 at the time. I had AdAs UTG+1 (well, effectively, the pot had been double straddled to 8). I raised it up to 20. Got called by the button, and the double straddler.

Flop came Kh 9s Qh. Double straddler checks, I cbet 26 into ~63 (my thinking was I didn't wanna be playing a huge pot here.) Both the button and the double straddler call.

Turn came 4h. Board just stinks and the guys playing are most certainly playing ATC. Everyone checks. River came like, an 8 of diamonds. Double straddler checks, and I check. The button also checks.

The other two had ****ty queens. Did I miss out on value here? Or with such a wet board and pretty deep stacks is playing it this cautiously okay?

I think you played the hand pretty well. The river should be a bet, though. The double straddler checked the turn and river, which means he probably doesn't have a very strong made hand-- he would have tried to get some value with two pair, a straight, a flush, etc.

The button closes the action on the turn with a check. He's not checking his big made hands here. MAYBE he checks a nut flush draw to trap... but it's just so unlikely.

C-bet larger, missed a load of value there.

Value bet river.

In retrospect, obviously I should. But the button had shown a willingness to fire on any sign of weakness, so I was hoping he'd fire. If I did lead out on river for around half pot, and he raises, do we fold or call?

Bet 45 quid on flop, bet river 110 quid or so

AP to the river is fine, would rather see a larger bet on the flop, but you did bet.

On the river I'm sure you could get value by betting ~100. If they raise you there then you could have a decision, but most people don't raise larger bets like that if they think you're "weak." You could dump it to a raise.

A larger bet otf ~35-45 is better against 2 opponents imo. I don't mind checking turn/river with intent to call either V down..if you're a cautious type. Otherwise I fire 75 or so on the turn and if we get raised most likely a fold. But accomplishes good value from a lot of their range I think. Either way NH.
