Playing 1-2-25 should I add on? Playing 1-2-25 should I add on?

Currently playing a table that is effectively 1-2-25. It’s a 1-2 table, but apparently no limit buy in, whale just bought in for 1k. I started with $240, riding the variance train, and currently have $220 ish.... I have $400 more in pocket... should I put more on table? All but 3 players have $800 plus. Everyone feeding off whale who keeps reloading... do I add to my stack?

Guessing table is agreeing to a $25 straddle? I would just buy in for whatever I'm rolled for and not over think it. Depends on your financial situation though and how much variance you are ok with

No straddle, but everyone opening for $20-$25 because of their stack sizes, including whale who will open from between 20-80. Everyone 3 betting whale to iso

You went the casino to make money right? I'd buy in for all of it. Look for good spots to squeeze; 3bet premium and try to get it in. Don't play smaller pairs or suited connectors until you win a big pot.

Disclaimer: I am a degenerate.

Or just keep your current stack and shove on the whale whenever you pick up AJ+, 99+ and he makes another one of his oversized raises.

Opening at $25 is fairly standard in $1/3 games a fair amount of the times. Of course some times it's $12-15 but $20-30 is the standard 1/3rd to 1/2 the time I play. Do what AALegend says it you don't like the larger opens, find good hands, apply pressure, accept variance and +EV.

He's playing 1/2 uncapped buy in. I've played this 4 times at Gold Strike in Tunica (R.I.P.). It gets pretty crazy.

If that’s all you brought with you I wouldn’t put it all on the table at once. It’s tough to play your best with empty pockets. Also, having a couple rebuys mitigates session variance quite a bit. I know from experience how much it sucks to leave a great table because you have no money left. Multiple buyins is probably not just lower variance, but higher EV as well.

OMC avoids variance. I rest my case.

If you have to ask, you should rack up.

whether to add on is mostly a function of your skill level (including at different stack depths) and bank roll

I think adding on to reach somewhere between 275-350 looks pretty good with the dynamic described, you still aren't that deep and have enough for another 1-2 bullets if you bust

Chuck all but $100 on the table and play TAG.

If you bust then buy in for $100 and play a short stack strategy where you wait for {99+, AQ+} and look to 3bet jam preflop
