Taking a shot at 5/10...basically the whole night comes down to 2-3 big hands. Here they are...

One of the first hands I played, so stack was 585 I think. Average stack at the table was over 2k...

on the button...

utg1 raises to 30 utg2 calls,
I call.
SB reraises to 80, utg1 and utg2 call, I call.

Flop: 2d9h10s,

SB bets 80, utg1 calls, utg2 calls, I call... leaving me with about 430 left.

Turn: 5d

SB bets 75, utg1 raises to 150, utg2 calls, I call 150 to win about 1090 .SB moves all in for about 2.5k, utg1 has about 800 back and snap calls, utg2 folds, I call all in for remaining 280.

river: 8c,

SB= aggressive slightly looser range pre and post flop
utg1 = was reffered to as a fish. he seemed decent to me but was running horribly before this hand and tilted but was also calling a lot.
utg2= good tag player, 4k stack

what do i hold and what do opponents hold? Will update with answers.

I guess this is a guessing game? Not sure you are going to get great response on a somewhat confusing thread.

I'd hope to be holding the NUTS!!

Hero appears to be on a draw or a 1 pair hand with some BD draws. I'd imagine that a flopped set or 2 pair is getting the money in on the flop a quarter size pot lead and 2 calls. Could have 87, 98, JT, or QJ. Might even be diamonds.

Once UTG1 opens and a solid TAG cold calls UTG2, you should have a very tight range for overcalling with a half stack on the button. Maybe something mid pairs, high connectors and big suited aces, you'd probably just 3-bet GII with QQ+/AK on a short stack.

On the flop you can overcall with any 8-out draws and nut gutters. Most one pair hands should fold. I'd just GII now with sets and T9s, so I think you have a draw, maybe JJ/ATs

On the turn you can probably play this way with QJs, KdQd, KdJd, maybe AdTd. 87s would have folded pre.

I think it's about 50/50 that you have the nuts on the river.

Hero holds the absolute nuts.

Opponents hold hands that they think are good at showdown.

Showdown was a set running into a straight. (hey-o)

If you are going to take a shot at 5/T, then at least buy-in for a $1000. Otherwise, just buy-in for ~$500 at 2/5. I don't see the point of playing 5/T with a ~$500 stack.

looks like everyone is randomly clicking buttons. I put you on QJ and the rest of them on some combination of nonsense.

Hero I'm guessing has a poorly played QJd or KQd.

SB may have AA/KK/1010, UTG1 likely has sets and JJ

I was leaning QJ heavy as well. What other draw's out there? KQdd maybe.

you guys are pretty much all correct. I held qj diamonds, the nuts. sb held 8j and utg held 1010 for a set and utg2 folded qj.

cha ching.

Well I do see value there. Get it in good and fast. I ended up cashing 3.8k. 2 flopped top set hands after that. Feels good to run good.

In poker it's a bit hard to scale your stakes with your bankroll growth. They don't run 3|7 blind games which might be optimal for a given bankroll. Short-stacking 5|T for $500 is going to be a bit higher variance than full-stacking 2|5, but also likely higher EV if the games are of comparable skill. It should be less variance than full-stacking 5|T. I believe it's a reasonable strategy if you want to limit variance in a bigger game either because you're unfamiliar with how it plays or because you don't have the bankroll requirements.

*grunch*

You have QJ of diamonds.

I'm just kinda stabbing in the dark here:
- SB has overpair?
- UTG + 1 has 99, 9T, TT?
- UTG + 2 has 22?

*grunch*

BINK!

Exactly its 600 or full 2k imo. Im not managing a br for 5/10. did not enter cash in poker app, will skew results.
