Paying Attention Paying Attention

Game 1-2 NL
Stacks - 400

Villain in seat 2 is the BB. I'm in MP. Villain is messing with his phone, checks his cards and pushes his hand away as if to fold. Dealer pushes hand back to him and informs him he's the BB and it's not his turn yet. ( thoughts on dealers actions ? )

I call the $2 with K-J off suit. One late caller and now the BB checks. Flop comes K-10-4. I bet $15, LP player folds and BB calls. Turn is another K. I bet 50 and BB calls. River is an Ace , no flushes are possible.

BB immediately goes all in for about $325. What hand , other than K-4 could he have ? Remember, he attempted to fold PF. He didn't have A-K, 10-10, 4-4, an ace ( this is 1-2 ) or even K-10. I called and he showed K-6.

Not meant to be a brag post, just pointing out what you can see when you pay attention. I'm occasionally guilty of the phone use but I see people missing all sorts of comments and tells because they have their head down watching a video or distracted with their phones.

Put the phones down and pay attention !

Why did you limp in with that hand? Either raise or fold.

LOL @ limping when BB already tried to fold. Youd have won $3 pre if you had been using that attention you paid to affect your play. I spend half the time im at the table messing with my phone. And thats how i have thousands of posts on a poker forum and all the knowledge that goes with it. Occasionally I accidentally fold my BB though.

I agree with Tomark; it is hard enough keeping track of hands you play in that you want to record & then there are hands that you weren't in, but want to remember how a Reg played it.

I don't accidentally fold my BB at least once per session, but it's not once in a blue moon either. However, I never open/limp. That's not even true! If I know that the straddler loves to raise, then it might very well be an open/limp.
